The physical part of a computer system is any piece of equipment that is touched and operated by people.
The term most applies to the system unit, keyboard, monitor (monitor/display), mouse, speakers, and printer.
Hardware also includes all peripheral (auxiliary) devices, such as a modem and any controllers that are connected to the CPU. Other hardware items include floppy drives, CD-ROMs, and hard disks.
